Great close up of Star Child with rare coloring, Special Note: In preparation for the 1969 70 MM release of this movie in New York in 1968 a few Star Child posters were released with a unique purple-blue-green color combination (No NSS). The 1968 Star Child image was then used for re-releases in 1971, 1972, and 1974. Most of the re-release posters that depict the Star Child basically have a single color, kind of a brown tint color and an NSS number at the bottom. This 1971 re-release poster has the same image coloring as the original 1968 Star Child. The coloring is part purple and part a blue-green like the original 1968 posters. Apparently in the 1970 printing for the first re-release some posters were printed with the same now rare coloring as the 1968 Star Child posters. All other posters were made with the single brownish color making this multi-colored version of the 1970 R-71 "Star Child" poster very rare! Like the 1968 Star Child posters, this poster has no NSS information. Trivia: A 1968 rolled Star Child poster sold for over $3,000 at auction in 2008. A R-1974 folded poster sold for over $300 at auction in April of 2009. Authentication: Copyright 1970. There is no NSS number printed at lower right corner. When originally displayed it was mistaken as a re-release notice of Jaws so the "ALL NEW" box was added. That poster is identified as "Style B." What makes this poster rare is the fact it is a pre-release date poster. It is the only studio issued poster with this Drew Struzan image that was actually actually used for the movie. This poster was printed in the US for Spanish audiences. It translates "Return Of The Jedi." not "Revenge Of The Jedi." "Regreso" translates to "Return." There are many reproductions of both English versions with and without the date. This poster was carefully examined by a major dealer before we obtained it. It is 100% certain that it is an original undated Spanish/U.S. "RETURN OF THE JEDI" advanced one-sheet. Also note that this poster was printed in the United States for use at theaters with Spanish speaking audiences. This is a an advanced one-sheet with a complete lack of credits on the poster. It is indeed RARE but not because it says "Revenge Of The Jedi." Background: Everyone knows this movie as "RETURN OF THE JEDI." The original working title was "REVENGE OF THE JEDI." Advanced posters that were printed for English audiences were printed with the working title REVENGE OF THE JEDI. and are very rare. They were printed in both a dated and undated version. It is believed as few as 200 undated posters were printed before Fox decided on a release date of May 25 1983. At that time a second version of the US poster was printed with a date. Lucas then decided to change the name of the film to "RETURN OF THE JEDI" and all these posters were recalled. RARE . Folded, VG/Fine.

Star Wars Trilogy (Special Edition) 1997 Re-Release The 1997 Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition was a theatrical anniversary edition of the original trilogy, in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The three movies were shown in USA from January through March with a monthly interval between each. A New Hope was released on January 31 followed by The Empire Strikes Back on February 21. Return of the Jedi was to be released on March 7, but due to the box office success of the first two (mostly Empire which grossed the most of the three re-releases) it was pushed to a week later on March 14. Special coverage on CNN in 1997 notes that Lucas spent $10 million to rework his original 1977 film, which was roughly what it cost to film it originally. $3 million of that was spent on the audio track for the special edition. Lucas also spent $2.5 million each on Episodes V and VI.
